Basic Proofreading

A proofreader is the last set of eyes to look at the book before it is published and your reader gets the chance to point out your errors.

Proofreading is the final check of the manuscript before publishing, looking for things such as:

  • Spelling
  • Repeated words (e.g. the the)
  • Punctuation
  • Formatting (for the way the material looks on the page)
